Rythu Bharosa (Agriculture Support)
The Rythu Bharosa Scheme is Telangana’s flagship agricultural investment support initiative, launched by the state government to replace the former Rythu Bandhu program. It aims to provide timely working capital directly to farmers at the beginning of each crop cycle.
Key Benefits
- Annual Financial Aid: Farmers receive ₹12,000 per acre each year.
- Seasonal Payouts: The amount is split into two equal installments of ₹6,000 per acre for both the Kharif (monsoon) and Rabi (winter) seasons.
- Paddy Crop Bonus: An additional bonus of ₹500 per quintal is provided specifically for paddy production.
- Secondary Safety Nets: Registered farmers are linked to the Rythu Bima scheme, which offers a ₹5 lakh insurance coverage payout to nominees in the event of a farmer’s death.
Strict 2026 Eligibility Guidelines
Unlike its predecessor, the current scheme strictly enforces targeted eligibility rules to prevent the misuse of public funds:
- Cultivable Land Only: Payouts are limited to active, arable farming plots verified through satellite mapping. Non-cultivable plots like real estate layouts, industrial zones, and fallow lands are excluded.
- Land Registration: The applicant must be a permanent resident of Telangana whose arable land is fully registered in the Bhu Bharati revenue portal. Recognition of Forest Rights (ROFR) landholders are also eligible.
- Tenant and Landless Laborers: Registered tenant farmers holding a valid lease qualify for the support. Landless agricultural laborers receive ₹12,000 annually under a linked sub-program called the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme.
